GW1 BEST 4.5M DEFENDERS?

Konsa is one of the best 4.5 assets in the game this year. He will probably locked on the CB of Villa – a team that good enough to qualify for the UCL.
- Great price bargain
- No rotation risk
- Promising attacking threat
- High CS odd
- Great opening fixtures if you can survive GW2 (actually Villa kept 2 CS against Arsenal last season and secured 2 wins)
- Fully fit because he just played once during the Euro campaign
Remember this guy? I really think he will be such a great FPL asset when dropped down to £4.5m.
- I truely keen on Palace this season (such a phenomenal squad depth)
- Phenomenal cleansheet odd (Palace ranked 5th in terms of xGC last season)
- Nice fixtures that strategy well with Brentford, Everton
- Aerial beast
I would love to have the attacking potential from Munoz (5.0m) but if 0.5m is a big deal for you, Andersen will be a decent pick.
Everton was one of the toughest defense in the league last season (top 4 in terms of keeping CS). That cause most of their nailed GKP and DEF cost 5.0m or more. Somehow they forgot Mykolenko – who was played as a fullback – and priced him with 4.5m price tag.
- Nailed on great defense (high CS odd)
- Small attacking threat
- Rotate well with Newcastle, Palace, United defenders
Newcastle didn’t performed well last season due to the unfortunate injuries all across their defense. This season is a brand new and promising season for Newcastle assets.
- Cheap Newcastle defender – Money for Haaland, Salah and others premiums
- Advanced role in the left wing – 1G 1A pre-season
- Great 8 opening fixtures + Rotate well with Everton and Arsenal DEF
- Nailed at least until Botman back (I still think he’s the priority over Burn when Botman back)
Last season United:
- Lost the main CB duo
- Casemiro as DM
- Still top 5 best defense
This season United:
- De Ligt in, Lisandro back
- Ugarte on going
And Lisandro only cost £4.5m? 1.5m less than Arsenal DEF – quite a bargain to me.
- According to a lot of research, Dunk will be the player that benefit the most with the new BPS
- Aerial magnet + great passing range: Nice attacking potential
- Strategy well with Arsenal DEF – Dunk might be a must have if you want Saliba or Gabriel in your squad
- Barco for 4.0m will be a better pick as he’s cheaper and play in the wing. But, hey, we’re talking about 4.5m DEF, aren’t us?
Quansah is absolute overlooked at this point:
- Nailed for Liverpool with only 4.5m required
- 2.5m cheaper than Trent; 1.5m cheaper than Robertson or any ARS defender
- Fixtures against ISP in GW1 and some good opening fixtures come along…
- 3rd best defense last season (this season might even be better as Slot has a more possession based system with lower xGC on paper)
Obviously not the player to pick currently with 5 insanely hard opening fixtures. But don’t forget that he’s the most advanced DEF (last season he was a second striker for a few matches) and only cost 4.5m. Great option to note down for GW6-7-8 transfer.

Really unfortunate injury cause him a whole season. An insanely attacking defender from the Bee is back this season with an affordable price of 4.5m. With this kind of fixtures, he WILL NOT make my GW1 draft but surely a player to watch at some points.
Another 4.5m that I wouldn’t pick for GW1 but 100% under the radar for long-term strategy. Leif Davis scored 2 goals and provided 18 assists last Championship season!!! The EFL record holder will be a solid wildcard to keep an eye on!
